If I’ve ever mistaken you for another person, called you by the wrong name, or just not recognized you, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I feel terrible for how it might have been taken, and I would change this about myself if I could.
We, in the United States, live in a very broken system.
As I continue on my writing journey after a long time away, I’m feeling a need to talk about my writing process on occasion. I’m also feeling the need for an outlet for some of the thoughts and feelings that being exposed to too much social media and not enough real life is causing.
Tales from the Tower World: The Girl in the Forest and other stories
The Towers were constructed to preserve both our species and our history. The earth has been exploited, mined, ravaged and polluted to the point that survival of the human race is threatened.

There is a lot of roller derby up here. Clinics, training, camps, boot camps, recreational groups, and amazing teams. Best of all, is that there is an amazing recreational league called Potential Fresh Meat, or PFM.
At the time, I was too pumped up on adrenaline to realize how bad it was. I’d already taken a skate to the crotch back in November, I figured a little knee pain wouldn’t stop me. So after the initial pain subsided a bit, I realized the were going to do one of my favorite drills. I put my gear back on and went back out to skate.
At the beginning of 2018, roller derby was on my mind most of the time. When I wasn’t helping with team fundraisers or hanging out with the girls, I was watching an endless number of youtube videos, researching skates, wheels, bearings, and gear.
My dedication to the team, to learning to skate, and all there was to learn about roller derby had grown exponentially since that first practice where I was talked into giving it a try.
I never thought I’d be a roller girl. I never imagined that roller derby would become my obsession and passion.
Girls wearing fishnets and hitting each other? Why would I want to get involved with that?
I’m not a badass. I have no interested in being some kind of sex icon or having an alter-ego. The roller derby girls I knew were not the type of women I would fit in with… or so I thought.
